There are numerous opportunities for dancers to develop their technique, artistry and leadership skills in a variety of dance genres. PERFORMANCESOak Bay High has a performance-based dance program that offers extensive opportunities for students to shine on the local stage. You can see the dancers sharing their artistry at our bi-annual Evening of Dance, school assemblies, Gary Taylor Basketball Tournament, GVPAF School Dance Festival, Elements School Dance Competition & the Oak Bay Tea Party Parade. Some highlights from the recent couple of years are performing at the BC Association of Police Board Conference (2020), Dancers 4 Kids (2020) & collaborating with the Palm Court Light Symphony (2019) at the Charlie White Theatre. We have been honoured to learn from and perform the choreographic works of professional Contemporary dance artist, Amber Funk Barton (2016), as well as professional Contemporary dancer and theatre artist, Meagan O'Shea (2018 & 2019).
